David Jones- Elephant

Stuffed Bear

I still have some work to do on this, refining, etc. This is at least a start though. Please comment, letting me know how I can improve this. Thanks!

Better whale without use of smoothing

Two of these are the silhouette, one with the grid, one without. This is the third or fourth whale I've done, this one is the first one that doesn't have any five sided polygons, and is perfectly mirrored.

My model (work in progress)

This is where i'm at right now. Missing a few limbs... but not for long.

My Sheep

Well it is a minimal sheep, but I like it.

Mike Dodson

Chris svedin ninja rabbit

Ninja Rabbit. He's a bunny with a black belt. (I still have to make the belt)
Chris Svedin

Kevin Webb - Sooothe like Domokun

Currently this picture has my model smoothed out, I still need to refine him a bit more so his arms/hands/feet are more rounded. I also need to slaughter his triangle count as I went a wee overboard with the the edges.

Will we be learning some additional sculpting tools and techniques to help our modeling? So far I have been relying pretty heavy on the edge loop tool and the interactive split tool...

Is there a way to just paint edges? I know XSI has a tool like that, but im not sure about maya.

Steven Kimball

My alien creation, and game level, yellow is start point and red is where main action takes place.

Char. Model

Ryan Martin -Wolf Man Character

I know this isn't the best but I tried. It's suppose to me a wolf looking character.

Collecting Reference

It seems to me that when I asked everybody to do a drawing to use as reference that that was the were everybody stopped. As a modeler you are also a sculpture. Often modelers will go out and collect real life reference as well. At the very minimum they will create a library of images that will prompt ideas and help them refine their work. I would highly recommend this not only for the character but for the game level as well.

Think of this creative process in a way that makes it so you "Don't reinvent the wheel". There are lots of real stuffed animals out there. Go and buy one or just go to the store and take pictures of it from a lot of different angles. For instance you may want to take a picture of the seams, so you will know exactly how it works and looks.

David Jones - Elephant

ELEPHANT- this is really rough.  I need to spend several more hours.  I have a question,  how do i add more divisions.  I tried clicking edit mesh - add divisions, but that didn't work.  do i have to be in a specific mode?

thanks!
-p.s. i will try to publish my drawings later.

My Monkey

I want to make him a little fatter but this will do for now :)

I have a few ruff edges I need to smooth, but feel pretty good about this little shrimp guy so far.

I know it isn't very smooth, but I'm not sure what to do about that. also, I think he's too wide. what do you guys think? plus, I wasn't sure how to paint his snout white.
