Collecting Reference

It seems to me that when I asked everybody to do a drawing to use as reference that that was the were everybody stopped. As a modeler you are also a sculpture. Often modelers will go out and collect real life reference as well. At the very minimum they will create a library of images that will prompt ideas and help them refine their work. I would highly recommend this not only for the character but for the game level as well.

Think of this creative process in a way that makes it so you "Don't reinvent the wheel". There are lots of real stuffed animals out there. Go and buy one or just go to the store and take pictures of it from a lot of different angles. For instance you may want to take a picture of the seams, so you will know exactly how it works and looks.
