The face normals may be facing the wrong direction. These can be viewed by going to Display>Polygons>FaceNormals. If they are facing the correct direction the green line will be extending out from the surface rather than going into the model. If that face has reversed normals then it can be switched by selecting the face and then using the Normals>Reverse command. Hopefully that is the problem. If not let me know.

ReplyDeleteNo, That was it, the face normals were facing the right direction, and I tried reversing them and re-reversing them to maybe see If it would update.
DeleteAlthough, After we fixed the ngons that were on his eyes, I tried re-softening the normals again and this time it smoothed it out alright.
So hooray.
I should probably get started on the whole unity intergration part now...
